On behalf of Todd Johnson and the Mid-Fairfield and New Jersey Rockets Youth Hockey Associations we would like to extend you an invitation to participate in the fourth annual Prep School Jamboree Program.
The prep program began with a concept of taking bantam major teams and playing a Prep School JV schedule during the months of December, January and February. From there it went to a 4 team bantam major jamboree at Hotchkiss School in November of 2005. The following year saw 10 bantam major and minor teams participate at Hotchkiss, Salisbury and Berkshire Schools. Last year we had 60 teams including U16 Midgets, U14 and U16 Girls and Bantam Major/Minor teams participate at numerous schools including Hotchkiss, Salisbury, Berkshire, Avon Old Farms, Loomis Chaffee, Westminster, Taft, Canterbury, Gunnery and Kent. This year we will be adding Lawrence Academy and Groton School.
The purpose of these Jamborees is to give players and their families an opportunity to see the Prep School atmosphere and play in front of Prep School coaches. There will not be a playoff round in this format. The teams will play two 22 minute halves. Each team will play 4 games. The cost will be $1,250 per team. There will be no charge at the door.
Each team’s roster will be distributed to all coaches. Each team manager will be given contact information at each participating school to arrange tours for the players and families. Be sure your manager or another parent is reaching out and arranging the tours. There is no sense coming just to play hockey games. This is a unique experience that can open doors that can truly impact a student/athlete’s future.
